Risk & Controls Analyst - Pensions Full-time permanent Ipswich/ Remote working Up to £90,000 5% annual performance related bonus We have an exciting new opportunity for a Risk & Controls Analyst to Join Robert Walters as a Workforce Consultant. As an Employed Workforce Consultant, you will benefit from permanent employment with Robert Walters and will be deployed on an interim or project basis into our clients' organisations, in return we will provide you with an opportunity to develop your skills with ongoing training and professional accreditations The Opportunity: In this role your responsibility will be to embed and facilitate a risk and control framework for the Pension Trustees commensurate to the requirements set out by the General Code of Practice issued by the Pensions Regulator (TPR) and encompassing all the risk and control frameworks in place (IFC / IC / Operational Risk). You will facilitate and monitor the risk and control environment for Pension Trustees and ensure a robust risk and control environment providing an independent opinion and to take a lead role in ensuring that appropriate actions are taken to document, challenge, monitor, report and escalate risk and control issues You will also prepare and present all necessary committee reporting information over the effectiveness of the risk and control environment as required throughout the year, as well preparing the annual Own Risk Assessment (ORA). Key Responsibilities: Development and maintenance of risk policies and profiles Development and maintenance of a risk management framework Documentation of process and implementation of controls to mitigate the risks identified in the risk profile Develop and maintain an approach for monitoring risks and issues, and raise action plans as necessary Set up risks and controls within the Group System - SCALA. Develop appropriate regular reporting on risks, issues, controls and action plan. Develop and prepare the annual Own Risk Assessment (ORA) Develop and execute an annual review of the effectiveness of the Risk Management Framework Assessment of the documentation of all framework elements, including processes and process risks for IT application, EUC, and AKC impacts (IFC only), and all controls (IC and IFC). Design effectiveness testing of all controls (all programmes) and processes (IFC only). Co-ordination of remediation activities and impact assessments for any issues / deficiencies within the scope of the team; IFC & IC. Co-ordination of Quarterly and Annual Control Assessment for any controls within the scope of business areas responsible for. Quality Review testing completed by peers, in accordance with Group Methodology. Ensure completion of any other IFC framework tasks for business area. Completion of IC COCA activity for business area. Key Skills and experience: Excellent understanding of Risk Management processes. Excellent understanding of the application of policies and controls. Strong understanding of finance and operational systems and processes. Strong understanding of audit methodologies. Understanding of Solvency II legislation. Excellent knowledge of the Pension industry Knowledge of Pension industry Financial Services background Excellent stakeholder management, relationship building, influencing and communication skills. Strong technical knowledge of Operational Risk Regulatory regime and reporting analysis techniques. Strong understanding of process and control disciplines and their application. Excellent facilitation skills - risk & control assessments and other risk workshops. Solution focused - able to analyse issues and suggest solutions.
