Our client is a small but rapidly growing Creative Interior Design and Fit out business who are a Chartered Building Company looking for an Estimator/Quantity Surveyor who can take a project from pricing to delivery. This is a permanent role paying between £40,000 to £50,000 depending on experience, along with a £5,000 car allowance. The role will be based 3 days a week from their Chesterfield office with some home working and regular client travel across the UK.
What Does the Role Entail?
As the Quantity Surveyor / Estimator, your role will be to take the design from the Designer and understand the drawings, working with suppliers to source materials and costings and create the commercials for the project, ultimately taking the project from pricing right through to delivery. The role is primarily focused on estimating, including take off, tender package, negotiating commercial best value, and client-facing pitches, where you must be able to explain/describe costs to a client.
What Skills Will You Have?
Ideally, for this role you will have upwards of 2 years experience estimating as either an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or, for the higher salary, an experienced QS. You will have worked within the construction sector either for a main contractor, sub contractor, or within fit out. You will have a real passion for the job and a desire to be part of the team, understanding their purpose. Ideally, you will possess industry qualifications; however, experience in the role is the key ingredient.
