As an SEN Teaching Assistant in the Ipswich area, you will support children both in the classroom and on a one-to-one basis. We are looking for someone who is reliable, patient, and resilient, with a great sense of humour and a genuine passion for working with children. Every day will bring new challenges and rewards as you help students navigate their learning journey with encouragement and kindness.
Key Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Provide compassionate and individualised support to children with complex needs.
* Create a warm, engaging, and structured learning environment where students feel safe and valued.
* Assist in developing and implementing tailored learning plans to support student progress.
* Use patience, creativity, and positive reinforcement to encourage engagement and build confidence.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to provide the best possible support.
* Celebrate student achievements, no matter how big or small, fostering a sense of accomplishment and pride.
* Adapt to the changing needs of pupils with a calm, proactive, and understanding approach.
SEN Teaching Assistant Skills & Requirements:
* A caring, kind, and compassionate nature with a passion for helping children succeed.
* Experience working with children with complex needs (preferred but not essential).
* A reliable and resilient approach, able to handle challenges with patience and positivity.
* A good sense of humour to build connections and create a fun, welcoming learning space.
* Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and families.
* Must be commutable to the Ipswich area.
