Wood is seeking an established Quantity Surveyor to support our growing workload within the Commercial area of our Wood Transmission & Distribution Ltd entity. This role provides flexibility as a hybrid role, working between home, site offices based near the Inverness area, and ideally our Glasgow office. Alternatively, we can consider a remote based working from home option with the flexibility to travel regularly to site. We are also recruiting for a second Quantity Surveyor in the Argyll area for a 3-year duration for the same client; the preference would be for a site based individual but hybrid and remote/home working with travel may also be considered. This role is perfect for an established and commercially minded Quantity Surveyor from a civils/ infrastructure or construction background who is comfortable working as the Principal Contractor, although not essential, with a wide range of projects under their belt who is looking for a new high-profile multi-million-pound contract challenge. The successful candidate will be experienced in cost & change control, contract & subcontract administration, and project reporting. You will be assigned to oversee and manage our geotechnical subcontractor who has been tasked to deliver a challenging ground investigation. Successful delivery will involve managing the Client and Subcontractor simultaneously. There will be opportunity for future progression and to work on further Scotland based transmission and distribution projects thereafter. Sound commercial judgement, flexibility, the ability to collaborate with others via MS Teams and travel to sites across Scotland is key. LI-Hybrid The Role Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will provide commercial support concerning financial and contractual matters arising through the management of our client project. This role involves post award contract administration, provision of commercial/ contract deliverables, implementation of project plans; undertaking costs analysis, preparation of cashflow forecasts, developing subcontracting commercial strategy as required; contributing to internal project reviews and developing project forecasts. You will enjoy the challenges of the project just starting construction, monitoring execution to tight deadlines, identifying Wood entitlement and managing performance within budgets.
