Role
Climate17 are working with a leader in the renewable sector that has built over 3 GW of renewable energy projects (solar/BESS) across 13 countries and is developing a further 13 GW.
They are actively searching for a Construction Project Manager to ensure that the construction of their projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget while maintaining a high standard of quality and adhering to the terms defined in the EPC contract.
Responsibilities
1. Develop detailed construction plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource requirements, maintaining adequate documentation.
2. Oversee the execution of Solar PV/BESS construction projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards, particularly ERCOT standards and regulations.
3. Travel to project sites to evaluate progress against schedule, assess actual versus estimated costs, and ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
4. Act as the primary point of contact for interaction, interface, and coordination with EPC contractors.
5. Maintain strong relationships with EPC contractors while enforcing compliance with the terms of the EPC contract.
6. Identify potential risks during construction and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
7. Prepare and present accurate and timely reports for top management.
8. Implement and maintain quality control measures to meet project specifications and standards.
9. Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, codes, and company safety guidelines.
10. Oversee project closeout, including settling financial obligations, demobilizing resources, and transitioning to the O&M Department.
Requirements
1. Demonstrated experience managing Solar PV/BESS construction projects, including planning, execution, and closeout.
2. Familiarity with ERCOT standards and regulations.
3. Strong leadership, business acumen, and assertiveness.
4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
5. Ability to manage conflict effectively and maintain accountability.
6. Expertise in risk management, schedule tracking, and construction quality assurance.
7. Ability to foster a positive team environment and motivate others toward shared goals.
