Role Purpose: The role of the U16 Assistant Coach is to contribute to a high-performance environment and culture that maximises the potential of players and staff and produces results, with a clear objective to provide as many players as possible for the First Team through their development within the Academy and build for the future. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in a similar role and will have a passion for women’s sport. Main Duties/ Responsibilities 1. Coaching and Player Development Assist players in the games programme, following the LCL coaching philosophy. Plan and evaluate U16 coaching sessions. Assist in developing U16 players and coaches in line with Club framework. Support and assess trialists in training and games. Deliver performance reviews and feedback to players, including formal reports. Assist with U16 Individual Development Plans (IDPs), ensuring updates at least 3 times per season. Work with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), players, and parents/carers to support player development. 2.Safeguarding and Welfare · Ensure player safety and welfare from arrival to departure, in line with Club policies and procedures · Understand and apply Academy safeguarding policies and procedures. · Monitor safeguarding risks alongside the Academy Designated Safeguarding Officer · Promote safe working practices and a positive, inclusive environment. 3. Talent Identification and Recruitment · Build a database of top youth talent within the PGA system. · Support the exit/release process for Academy players in line with league requirements. 4. Professional Development and Compliance · Stay updated on youth development trends and best practices. · Attend all U16 fixtures, tournaments, and in-house/FA CPD events. · Ensure compliance with FA rules, competition guidelines, and safeguarding standards. 5. Collaboration and Communication · Develop strong relationships with lead coaches for coaching and games programme delivery. · Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 6.Other ad-hoc duties as assigned from time-to-time by management Club Accountabilities 1.
