Salary - National (Edinburgh and Leeds) ranging from £51,200 to £68,000 and London £56,400 to £75,000 per annum (Salary offered will be based on skills and experience)

This role is part of the Data, Technology and Innovation (DTI) Division which is leading the FCA in harnessing the power of data and advanced analytics to transform financial regulation.
The User Centred Design Team (UCD) is part of a wider Digital Delivery Hub, bringing product, development and design delivery to the heart of key FCA projects.
What will you be doing?
As an Interaction Designer at the FCA you will work within a specialist user-centred design (UCD) team to help increase the maturity of UCD across the organisation. You will provide expert interaction design delivery to emerging multi-disciplinary digital product teams, on both new and existing services.
* Help teams view services through a user-centric lens, identifying opportunities to improve user experiences
* Design interaction solutions that address real user problems using data, design thinking, and agile methodologies
* Create and iterate prototypes (using tools like HTML and Figma) based on evidence and user feedback
* Foster team collaboration during prototyping and ideation, actively seeking input and participation
* Prioritise accessibility and inclusion in interaction design to create products that meet the needs of diverse users
* Advocate for interaction design, contribute to the FCA design system, and support the growth of the design community

Minimum
* Previous experience of working as an Interaction Designer
* Evidence of working in project/programme environments involving business & IT change
* Design experience within any of the following types of organisations/sectors: financial services, government/regulatory body, technology, consultancy (ideally IT consultancy)
Essential
* Ability to examine complex systems and create coherent design ideas
* An ability to generate multiple solutions to a problem, and use hypotheses to help test your ideas
* Expert in user-centred design ways of working and how interaction design integrates with other roles to achieve successful outcomes
* Use quantitative and qualitative data about users to inform interaction design artefacts
* Fluent in a number of prototyping techniques, from paper prototyping to HTML prototypes, and an ability to identify when to use each
* Work closely with key stakeholders and meet their needs with the service improvements you design
