Accounts Assistant / Semi Senior Accountant
Are you an aspiring accountant looking to take the next step in your career? We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading national accountancy firm who are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Semi Senior to join their team in Ayr.
This role is ideal for someone who is either working towards a professional accountancy qualification or has relevant practical experience. You’ll play an important role in delivering accurate accounts preparation and client support, working across a varied portfolio in the healthcare sector.
Role Responsibilities
* Preparing accounts and supporting documentation for healthcare sector clients, including GPs and other medical professionals.
* Using cloud-based and specialist systems including Xero, CCH, and Pertax.
* Assisting with personal tax returns and pension (superannuation) calculations.
* Supporting client managers and partners in day-to-day client work.
* Responding to client queries in a timely, professional manner.
* Prioritising tasks effectively to meet deadlines and targets.

Candidate Requirements
* Experience in accounts preparation within a practice setting.
* Familiarity with Xero and Excel (advanced Excel skills desirable).
* Experience with healthcare clients is a plus, but not essential.
* A proactive, organised mindset and strong communication skills.
* Working towards or already part-qualified (e.g. AAT, ACCA, ACA).
What’s On Offer
* £28,000 to £38,000 per annum.
