Pulse are currently seeking a determined Band 8a/b Clinical Psychologist to be welcomed into our client’s Adult Mental Health team, within a NHS trust based in Northumberland. This position will be available for the appointed Clinical Psychologist to start as soon as possible for an initial period of 7 months.
The Clinical Psychologist will undertake assessments, formulate care plans and deliver therapeutic interventions for adults with complex mental health needs. The psychologist will also be supporting a like-minded multidisciplinary team consisting of Occupational Therapists, CBT Therapists, Psychiatrists and other clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Assessments: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for adults, utilizing a variety of assessment tools and techniques.
2. Therapeutic Interventions: Plan and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to the individual needs of clients.
3. Consultation and Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, providing consultation on psychological matters and contributing to care planning and decision-making processes.
4. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
5. Supervision and Training: Provide supervision to junior staff, trainees, and other professionals as required, contributing to the development of the team’s skills and knowledge.
6. Research and Evaluation: Engage in research activities and contribute to the evaluation of psychological services, promoting continuous improvement.
Requirements:
7. Qualifications: Hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
8. Experience: Substantial experience working as a Psychologist in adult mental health settings, demonstrating proficiency in conducting assessments and delivering therapeutic interventions.
9. Knowledge: Stay abreast of developments in the field of clinical psychology, demonstrating a commitment to continued professional development.
10. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
11. Teamwork: Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, fostering a positive and supportive working environment.
