A successful manufacturing company with 3 sites across Ireland. The company is renowned as a top company in the local area. Due to a promotion within the company, there is a requirement for a SHEQ Officer.
Your new role
Based in Newry, this is a full-time permanent role in the Operations Team. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, the SHEQ Officer will have responsibility for the safety, health, environment, compliance, and quality assurance side of the business. They will manage and monitor standards, processes, training, and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety and Compliance within the company are adhered to. They will coordinate work systems to ensure that the products and services of the company meet the highest quality standards. They will be experienced in assessing demanding situations, identifying issues, and developing solutions that result in efficiencies, process and/or health & safety improvements. They will have 1 direct report, a Quality Inspector. Hours:
8.15 am - 5.15 pm Mon - Thurs and Fri 8.30 am - 4 pm.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, you will have a NEBOSH certificate and experience of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001. You will have carried out Risk Management and compliance and maintenance of the standards as well as Fire Safety awareness. It would also be desirable that you have Internal Auditor certification. Most importantly, you will have a positive attitude and the ability to get the factory on board.
