The key responsibilities and duties of the Deburr Operative include, but are not limited to:
1. Undertaking of blending damaged components, polishing to improve finishes, and corrosion removal of Aircraft components with pneumatic tooling
2. Local NDT of components to aid dressing of ladder cracks
3. Experience in the use of pneumatic tooling desirable
4. Experience with different abrasive grades of flap wheels but again not essential
5. Able to work in team environment, and able to work on own initiative to complete work tasks provided
6. An awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the Company’s environmental procedures
7. You will be required to maintain Practical Experience Record (PER) book
8. You may be required to train personnel with a specified area subject to your qualifications and experience
9. All duties shall be undertaken in compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations and Company Procedures
The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements:
10. Engineering apprenticeship preferred but not essential
11. General engineering experience desirable
12. Able to work shift (early and late shift.)
13. Previous knowledge of working with metals
14. Knowledge of using small hand tools
15. Ability to demonstrate manual dexterity
16. Reading engineering drawings is helpful but not essential
17. It would be beneficial for the individual to have a good knowledge of hand finishing techniques and knowledge of engineering drawings, although not essential
18. Team player
19. Good attitude to workshop housekeeping
20. Able to work to tight deadlines
21. Flexible approach to work
22. Good communication skills
23. Good decision making skills
