We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Assistant to join the team based at The Portland Hospital. This position will report into the Chief HR Officer (CHRO) with a dotted line into the HR Business Partner(s). The HR Assistant will provide administrative and general HR support to the CHRO, HRBP, managers and employees, as well as lead specific HR projects as required across all areas of HR including performance management, compensation and benefits, employee engagement, talent development, internal communications, and wellbeing. This position gives exposure to the full 360 remit of HR as well as internal communications and is ideal for any candidate looking to build or start their career in the HR department or specialise in a specific area. Primary Duties Serve as the first point of contact for HR policies, practices and procedures and answer related enquiries. Refer any complex queries to HR BP and ER BP. Actively provide ideas to improve and develop HR policies and process from employee feedback. Undertake all general HR administration such as maintenance of digital personnel files, updating the HRIS, uploading documents, and preparing HR letters and correspondence. Report, analyse and share HR metric data and reports as required to ensure the management team acts on key people KPIs. Supporting the ERBP and HRBP with employee relations case work including Flexible Working applications, sickness and any other HR casework, taking minutes at ER related meetings. Drafting invitation and outcome letter when requested. Support in the creation and facilitation of department newsletters with key HR updates. Support HR BP and Executive Assistants with communicating on and celebrating key employee moments (religious and public holidays, Employee Appreciation Day, etc.) and create and maintain a local facility calendar and communication plan. Coordinate and support with the planning and organization of groups and meetings (Colleague Council, Diversity Forum, etc.) Support on other HR matters and projects on an ad hoc basis as and when required. The Portland Hospital is the only private hospital in the UK dedicated to the healthcare of women and children. We're the UK's largest private children's hospital with over 46 paediatric beds including a 10-bed intensive care unit, a neonatal intensive care unit, and a day case unit. What you’ll bring: Ability to independently handle a high-volume administrative workload in a fast paced and demanding environment. Confident to communicate with managers and business owners at all levels, with a style that is professional, engaging, coaching and collaborative. Ability to work autonomously and solve problems as they arise, sometimes having to think of new processes to improve processes and operations. Confident to learn and master new HR & IT systems (Workday, dotdigital, etc.) Medium to strong mastery of MS Office platforms – PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook. Strong analytical capability – must be able to organise, modify, and draw conclusions from large data sets using Excel as well as present conclusions in a clear and concise manner. Strong written skills in English – ability to independently write internal communication updates, articles, and newsletters. Ability to priorities one’s workload and exceptional time management skills. HR related qualification or study is desirable, but not required. Why HCA UK?
