Jobs with Purpose is working with Eating Distress North East (EDNE), the only eating distress charity in the region, who have a 36 year track record of supporting people with eating distress and their loved ones. They are looking to recruit someone who has experience of coordinating and delivering high-quality mental health services to help set up a new service for the charity, delivering non-therapeutic emotional and practical support to people aged 13 and above living with eating distress. The Wellbeing Support Co-ordinator will recruit, coordinate and manage volunteers and paid employees delivering support and hold their own case load, acting as a recovery champion, promoting choice, self-determination and opportunities for connection and understanding. Specifically, the service will offer:
Befriending and emotional support.
Support around meals, and food/clothes shopping.
Independent living skills, including travelling on public transport.
Support with leisure, social activities, and interests.
Education, employment, and volunteer support.
Full training will be provided to develop specialist knowledge and access to further training opportunities to contribute to professional development, including through a training budget. EDNE also offers a staff wellbeing service, 3% pension contribution, rising to 5% after 12 months, and a supportive and flexible working environment. This role is flexible and hybrid working - 28 hours per week as a minumum. An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this post.
