The Data Integrations team designs and configures the data management systems required to transfer data between systems such as student records, finance, timetabling, and the University’s VLE. Develops and supports integration and transport systems to enable effective data integration and flow. Provides and supports appropriate reporting and analysis tools. The Analyst Developer works within the team and closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to understand institutional requirements and deliver against these. This involves deploying, developing, and managing both off-the-shelf and bespoke applications. Maintaining, testing, and owning these services is part of the role.
As an Analyst Developer you can expect to:
* Develop, maintain and provide support for data integration services to ensure reliable and accurate services are available.
* Engage with staff users of institutional systems, providing them with advice, including technical problem solving and issue resolution, or identifying and specifying system enhancements to ensure critical business processes can be completed within key time periods.
* Test and implement code amendments and enhancements involving liaison with staff users to define testing scenarios to ensure that changes and developments are accepted (including test case and scenario documentation).
* Use modelling techniques to document business processes and workflows as specified by the business owners and key system stakeholders.
What will you bring to the role:
* First degree in Computer Science or a related subject. Considerations will be made for candidates with a degree in a mathematical related subject e.g. engineering, physics, mathematics.
* Experience working with relational databases (preferably MSSQL), constructing queries, and managing processes.
* Experience of investigating and resolving errors, bugs, and other technical issues within large and complex applications, reporting/escalating as relevant.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work and communicate (orally and in writing) confidently and diplomatically with people in all parts of the organisation and at all levels.
