Job Description
As Subcontract Manager you will manage the daily function of the Subcontract team managing relationships with existing providers. You will be working closely with hauliers and the pallet network to ensure business needs are met. A large part of this role will involve cost analysis to manage existing spends therefore, the successful candidates will be to be confident in handling difficult conversations involving negotiation. You also will ensure that all suppliers are 100% legally compliant for up to 12 depots.
The successful candidates will need to have extensive knowledge within 3PL and how the sector works, contacts and relationships are to key to success of this role. Experience in Roadrunner would be beneficial.
This role is to be based in the Midlands with a requirement to travel, flexibility is required.
Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00
Daily Duties:
* Manage subbed volumes.
* Implement subcontract strategy based on forecasted volumes.
* Manage haulier performance.
* Manage and control all external sub hauliers to ensure 100% legal compliance.
* Manage and control claims and returns that may arise to reduce the company’s liability of losses.
* Take on additional work from 3rd party hauliers to reduce empty running on Stobart Fleet.
* Be the point of contact for purchase order queries.
* Support Central Team as required.
Qualifications
* Demonstrable planning and problem-solving skills.
* Equivalent of 5 GCSEs at C Grade or above.
* Excellent communicator, with a strong knowledge of Microsoft systems.
* Able to work under pressure and collaborating with a range of departments across the business, from Planning through to Forecasting.
* IT Literate including Microsoft word, excel and outlook.
* Knowledge of the transport industry.
