An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Urgent Care Division in the Emergency Department. If you are looking for a new challenge, this may be the opportunity for you. You will be expected to work as part of the multidisciplinary team and be actively involved in providing high standards of care during the busiest periods, which includes nights.
You will also be expected to demonstrate a high level of nursing assessment and clinical care skills by supporting Band 5 Nurses and Band 2 Health Care Support Workers.

The post holder will support registered nurses with the provision of care for patients in the Emergency Department.

Clinical Responsibilities
1. Work as part of the ED team under the supervision of registered nurses and support them by participating in the delivery of patient care.
2. Be self-motivated and use initiative as necessary.
3. Complete a locally approved orientation/induction program and maintain an agreed level of competence.
4. Utilise customer care skills when caring for patients and relatives.
5. Share information relating to the patient with registered nursing staff.
6. Help and support patients to minimise their stress.
7. Assist patients in achieving physical and psychological comfort.
8. Report any changes in a patient's condition to the Nurse in Charge and respond to clinical urgencies.
9. Where appropriate, instigate emergency procedures.
10. Maintain and protect confidential information relating to patients at all times.
11. Maintain a clean environment and equipment.
12. Establish and maintain good working relationships with patients, relatives, colleagues, and members of the multidisciplinary team.
13. Communicate with patients and relatives using tact and sensitivity.
14. Help patients to overcome communication barriers.
15. Undertake any other duties consistent with the overall band of the post.
16. Contribute to the promotion of health and prevention of illness, as directed by the registered nurse.
