We are looking for someone versatile; you could be working on a small individual assignment or as part of a larger, multi-disciplinary team. You will enjoy working closely with clients on a range of demanding issues whilst helping to mentor and train more junior colleagues. Examples of the types of work you will be involved in: Leading technical aspects of mechanical engineering projects. This may be over a range of design phases, from optioneering through to detailed design. Supervising, developing, and mentoring others. Within our Net Zero Engineering Business, the mechanical team has a focus on diversifying the energy mix in the United Kingdom and elsewhere. This includes power generation (from gas, biomass, hydro and nuclear), natural gas cavern storage, hydrogen (production & cavern storage), and industrial decarbonisation. Does this sound like you? In addition to having strong communication and leadership skills, key attributes include the following: Master’s degree (MEng/MSc) qualified Mechanical Engineer. Chartered Engineer and a member of IMechE is desirable. Strong technical background. Experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., power, chemical, oil & gas) is desirable. Some examples of the experience that would be of benefit are: Pipe stress analysis. Equipment specification and engineering specification writing. Experience of attendance at site for surveys and operations. High temperature component life assessment. Fitness for service assessments. Pressure part design calculations. Plant layout design.
