Job summary Main theatre recovery Unit is situated within the theatre suite and caters for up to eighteen immediate post-operative patients at any one time, we also provide cover on the New Clatterbridge Cancer Centre to which the Recovery staff rotate. The current staff are all highly skilled recovery practitioners responsible for the safe admission care and discharge of all patients from the variety of disciplines to destinations such as Theatre Admissions Unit, wards within the hospital and critical care. As we work very closely with Theatre Admissions Unit staff may be expected to support the unit in times of staff shortage. Although experience would be beneficial it is not an essential requirement for this post as full training will be given, and the successful candidate would achieve their competencies guided by an experienced recovery practitioner who will act as a preceptor. Theatre Recovery works on a 24/7 basis therefore applicants must be aware that there are a variety of shift patterns including out of hour services.
