Overview
We are seeking a passionate cook, ideally with barista experience to join our small team. As a cook/barista, you will play a crucial role in creating delicious brunch and lunch items for our customers. Your enthusiasm for food and commitment to excellent customer service will ensure that every guest leaves with a smile.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and set up the kitchen for brunch and lunch service, including pack down
* Ensure all food production meets the highest standards of quality, taste and presentation
* Coordinate all kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
* Working closely with service team
* Assist customers with their orders, providing recommendations and answering any questions they may have. Be aware of food allergens and be able to discuss this with customers
* Ensure all food safety regulations and hygiene standards are adhered to during food preparation and service.
* Handle transactions accurately and efficiently.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
* Monitor stock levels
* Support and give input into new menu ideas, following current food trends
* During quiet times, support the service team, including learning barista skills
Skills
* Previous experience of at least 3 years within a food preparation environment
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work independently
* Experience in food preparation is, ensuring that all items are prepared to the highest standard and a knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
* A helpful attitude towards customers and team members
* Knowledge of food safety practices to maintain health standards in food handling.
* Qualifications in the food industries preferred
Our coffee shop is open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday during the winter, with additionally opening hours during peak months.
This role will be for these 4 days during the winter, with the view to additional hours in peak seasons.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21-£14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 30 per week
