What does the role look like?
Based in Wolverhampton and part of the Actuation Systems team, you will be joining the Centre of Excellence (COE) Finance team as a Finance Assistant. Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, this role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance department and wider business, while also driving continuous improvement and challenging existing processes.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
* Reviewing manual accounts payable invoice requisitions, ensuring accuracy, correct coding, and compliance with the approval matrix, while assisting with query resolution.
* Supporting the Financial Shared Services team with accounts payable invoice queries.
* Preparing manual sales adjustments.
* Preparing and processing monthly journals.
* Assisting with the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
* Maintaining accurate financial data.
* Managing incoming post for the finance department.
* Supporting additional ad hoc finance-related tasks as required.
What will you bring to the role?
Essential skills:
* Level 3 AAT qualification or equivalent.
* Experience in a finance/accounts role.
* Excellent organisational skills with a strong focus on accuracy and detail.
Desirable skills:
* A highly organised approach with excellent attention to detail.
* A proactive and hands-on attitude, with a willingness to challenge and improve existing processes.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills, working effectively across finance and non-finance teams.
* Experience working with SAP/OneStream.
* Knowledge of US and UK GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley legislation.
* Understanding of ERP systems.
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* A collaborative working style, supporting both finance and non-finance colleagues.
