Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior communications professional to take a lead in shaping Maggie's profile and reputation and help the charity grow and go from strength to strength.
We want someone who is passionate about the impactful role communications can play in making sure Maggie's can be there for anyone with cancer. Your role will provide expert counsel to our CEO and Board and bring a communications lens to critical strategy decisions and plans.
We're looking for a great team leader with expertise of using the highest level of communications across all channels, including national media to raise awareness of Maggie's and the role we play in supporting people with cancer to live well.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* A highly experienced Communications leader, with a proven track record of working in a complex, multistakeholder environment to draft, manage and deliver reputation value which creates long-term value for the organisation.
* The ability to contribute to strategic, operational and commercial debate and decisions supported by experience, judgement, evidence and insights.
* Proven track record of developing creative communications strategies to establish Maggie's on a national media platform.
* Trusted thought leader with ability to inspire and drive support.
* Excellent influencing skills.
* Deep knowledge and understanding of the external context (governmental, regulatory, NHS, NGOs, political, and media) which Maggie's is and will be operating within, the critical high value stakeholders and their agendas.
* In-depth experience of working and influencing in a complex organisation, working in a collaborative manner to influence and align multiple internal stakeholders.
* Able to translate insight into strategy.
* Extensive experience of people and budget management.
* Know-how in, and experience of, what drives both traditional and new forms of media.
* Ability to actively build and maintain a network of internal relationships at all levels in the business – including with leadership in Maggie's centres.
