Early stage biotech seeks a qualified accountant to join as Head of Finance.

Our client is an early stage biotechnology business with sites in the UK and US.
Your new role
Reporting to the CFO and managing a small team, this broad role will be accountable for the day-to-day finance operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions. You will prepare UK management accounts and Group Consolidated accounts and present to the board. You will lead month-end meetings on month-end variances with department heads and manage the audit process while liaising with external providers.
Preparation of the R&D tax credit for external review, ensuring the completion of month-end reconciliations, and preparing annual budgets will all be in your remit, as well as contributing to company financial strategy and decision-making processes. You will seek to forge strong relationships with key stakeholders and support the business through change and growth periods, coordinating debt, taxation, and assisting the CFO with equity and acquisitions as appropriate.
You will ensure robust financial systems and processes are in place and monitor, record, and account for the Group share options scheme and issued share capital.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a broad range of finance skills and previous experience in an early stage business, preferably in biotechnology.
