Introduction We require a production engineer to join our production engineering team based in Abercynon in south Wales. The production engineer defines and works out how the product will be manufactured and/or assembled on the production line including decision of packaging used. They ensure the right quantity of components/products are delivered and alighned to support the speed of the production line. The Production Engineer is responsible for implementation of production processes and procedures, leading production and productivity imporvements with project based activities, including new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing layouts(cell design) to reduce waste, improve product quality, buld safety into process and reduce operating costs. Requirements of the Role Support the safe and effective use of people and equiptment to achieve the daily/weekly/monthly production plan. Work in conjunction with the Planning department to the TOC process to meet the requirements of the capacity plan in the optimal way. Ensure that the manufacturing teams are appropriately trained/qualified for the functions that they are required to perform in line with the work instructions. Lead the team in the achievement of the operational KPI's and budgeted requirements. Lead and champion the continuous improvement/ lean activities in line with the BE LEAN principles and support the VAVE activities through the implementation of cycle time reduction and tool life improvements etc Participate in the project management process for NPI and provide resoources as required. Introduce new processes and equipment required to manufacture products to a required level of output.
