Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Salary: £35,000 per annum (pro-rata)
Role Overview
As an SEN Science Teacher, you will play a crucial role in the school's learning support centre, a safe and quiet space designed to nurture students with special educational needs
You will work with pupils who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) on a one-to-one, one-to-two, or small group basis, tailoring your approach to meet individual learning needs
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver engaging and accessible science lessons to students with special educational needs
2. Adapt the curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
3. Provide individualized support to students with EHCPs
4. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a holistic approach to student development
5. Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records
6. Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Qualifications and Skills
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialization in Science
8. Experience teaching students with special educational needs
9. Strong knowledge of the science curriculum and SEN teaching strategies
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
11. Patience, empathy, and a passion for inclusive education
12. Ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment
