We are seeking highly motivated Specialist Support Worker to work in Gosport, Hampshire with the Support Manager and team to support our customers in delivering 24 hours registered supported living service. This service has 4 adults who have learning disabilities and mental health issues with very complex behaviours. Are you caring, fun, and up for a challenge? Day to Day Activities: Assisting with personal care and hygiene (if required) Medication administration (if required) Support with preparing and cooking meals Support with attending medical appointments Support with social activities Support with independent skills Support with domestic duties such as cleaning and laundry Keeping accurate records and updating care plans as required Keeping up to date with your training Advance is a great place to progress too; many of our Support Workers have gone on to be managers, and some have moved into roles in other areas of our business. If you think a Specialist Support Worker role sounds right for you, you will need to be: Able to support with customer’s evolving support needs and create personalised support plans using specialist knowledge and experience Able to deliver care and support in line with co-produced plans, establishing meaningful relationships with our customers and their circle of support Able to work with customers who present behaviours of concern that require intensive support planning and risk management Able to lead on monitoring and evaluating the health and behaviour needs of the customers Able to act as a role model and mentor to colleagues Able to identify, escalate, and contribute to the management of risks affecting customer service or safety Need to be literate and numerate in English Willingness and ability to achieve the Adult Care Worker Level 3 or equivalent Minimum of 1-year strong experience in Learning Disabilities, Autism & Mental Health Services Able to work well as a team If you need further information about the role you can contact, Rachael Targett at rachael.targettadvanceuk.org, Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.
