Female Personal Care Assistant
Location: Telscombe Cliffs
Days & Hours: 21 hours a
This role will be on a fixed term basis for 6 months with the possibility of extension or to become permanent. Also bank hours to cover for the current support worker in their absence.
Pay: £11.44 per hour
Driver required? Essential (will need own car to get to work)
Driving Clients Car? Yes, H wheelchair adapted vehicle.
Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? Yes, on duty and to attend trainings
Essential Experience: Experience working with adults with cerebral palsey
Desirable: Experience in managing pain and fatigue
Pets: 1 dog
Location (while on duty): Partially adapted family home

H, born in 1981 considers family to be very important to her. She has a keen interest in music arts and crafts and exercise and very interested in different cultures.
H has cerebral palsy from birth but is very mobile. It affects her body and legs so standing is difficult. She uses a walking aid and wheelchair but on occasion can be very mobile but will require monitoring and support. She also has chronic pain condition and suffers fatigue as a result so needs encouragement. She is independent with all transfers. Assistance is required putting equipment in vehicles.
Your role will be to support H with day-to-day activities as needed. At times, this may include supporting with elements of personal care. This will also include supporting H with domestic tasks which will include housework duties for her, as well as the family, assisting with the family's meals when needed, helping to build her confidence. Your role will also include driving and supporting H at any therapy based activities.
