We are looking for a highly motivated Occupational Therapist,with the relevant skills in rehabilitation and management,to joinourteam in Wokingham Community Hospital. Windsor and Ascot wards are community physical health inpatient wards,caring for adults with a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions,providing rehabilitation.
The roleis fulltime,but part time would be considered down to 30 hour per week.
The unit is based in Wokingham close to shops and public transport for easy commuting. Wokingham Community Hospital staff are eligible for ‘fringe London weighting’ under agenda for change, which equates to anadditional5% of your basic NHS salary, and free parking on our hospital site.
Are you passionate about working with patients with complex needs to support their independence and function?
The post holder will have a range of Occupational Therapy skills and experience, be well organised and willbe responsible forthe delivery of a high-quality service as part of the MDT. The post involves working alongside the Inpatient Services Manager and is a mix of both a clinical case load and the management of junior colleaguesand service delivery. This requires someone with effective communication skills, a flexible approach, and an ability to work under pressure, both as part of a multi-disciplinary team and independently.
There is a strong professional leadership structure within our organisation, and you will be supported by the Inpatient Services Manager, and the Occupational Therapy Professional Lead.
The roleincludes;
• Supported management of the occupational therapyand wider therapyteam
• Promoting patient independence and discharge
• Actively taking part in and leading,board rounds and improvement huddlesetc
• Communicating with key stakeholders and carersoutsideof the service
• Driving and delivering rehabilitation on the wards

The “must haves” for you to be considered for this role:
• AnOccupational Therapy Degree/Diploma with HCPC registration and experience in rehabilitation.
• Must be able to drive andhave access to use of a car for patient’s home access.
• Adaptive, reactive, style of working to lead a team to deliver an outstanding level of care to our patients and support of the staff.
• Work 30 hours or more a week.
