The Opportunity
As a M&E Engineer joining our Joint Design Office (JDO) team, you will be supporting the Review and Acceptance (R&A) branch in design activities for a classified plant. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, serving as the intelligent customer on behalf of the Hinkley Point C project and making a crucial impact on its success.

What you’ll be doing
The M&E Engineer will serve as the technical lead, responsible for reviewing and accepting design changes proposed by site contractors and justified by designers. In this role, you will manage the critical interfaces between construction contractors and design teams. As part of NNB’s Delivery Directorate, you will work closely with the on-site Construction Team to foster an inclusive and dynamic work environment. You will collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including the Turnkey Contractor, as well as teams within your area and across the JDO Review & Acceptance team.
As the M&E Engineer, you will take on the technical lead role, overseeing the review and acceptance of design changes proposed by site contractors and validated by the designers. You will also manage key interfaces between construction contractors and design teams. Working as part of NNB’s Delivery Directorate, you’ll be based on-site with the Construction Team, contributing to a dynamic and inclusive work environment. You’ll collaborate with various stakeholders, including the Turnkey Contractor, and teams within your area and across the JDO Review & Acceptance team.
Who you are
As the M&E Engineer, you will have a degree or higher in a relevant field, along with membership or eligibility for membership in a recognised professional institute. Experience in the design and maintenance of heavy mechanical power generation equipment, as well as expertise in developing mechanical safety cases.
A solid understanding of Quality Assurance within a highly regulated environment is required, along with strong decision-making skills to address safety case issues. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to establish strong relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
