Permanent Practice Manager - South West London
Type: Small animal.
Location: Battersea, South West London
Practice:
* They are an independent small animal practice in SW London. They are a hard-working and friendly team consisting of three vets and two RVNs (you would make it three RVNs), one SQP, and three VCAs nurse/support staff.
* Fully equipped practice with-in house MiLab blood machines, IV fluid pumps, digital radiographs, dental radiographs, and ultrasound. We do see some exotics (rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, ferrets) but experience in this area is not essential.
Role: Due to relocation, they are looking for a permanent, full-time practice manager to join them from February 2025. Their current practice manager has helped to create a culture where they meet regularly to discuss how the practice is run and where everyone knows their role but happily helps each other. They now need someone to carry on her good work and help to take the practice forwards.
Hours:
* The current shift pattern is a rotating two-week rota, with one week working 45 hours and the next week working 35 hours. This allows for every second Monday off.
* The shift pattern consists of opening and closing shifts but covering the hours of 8:30 am-6 pm each day, with an hour’s lunch break (unpaid).
* They are flexible with these hours and shift patterns.
Weekends: It would be great if you were part of the weekend rota doing one Saturday a month 9 am-1:30 pm, but this is not essential. This shift can be taken as extra pay or time in lieu.
OOHS: Accommodation is available. If you wish to have accommodation, then you will be responsible for being on call 1 week on with 1 week off. Monday-Friday only. On-call is checking inpatients at 8 pm and 10 pm. It is not common that they have inpatients; however, they can have in-patients admitted up until 6 pm, so you do need to be available on your weeks on. The pet owner is made aware that the checks are only at 8 pm and 10 pm. If the vet feels the patient requires hospitalization at a 24-hour practice, we will refer the patient before 6 pm.
