You'll lead the Commercial Finance function, partnering closely with Sales, Marketing & Implementation to optimise revenue and profitability. You'll also collaborate closely with the Financial Reporting team to ensure alignment on financial reporting, cost management, and budget consolidation.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
Finance Data Architecture & MI Strategy
* Working with the CFO to design and implement a scalable finance data architecture that enables real-time decision-making.
* Developing MI reporting that provides clear visibility on revenue performance (ARR, NRR, CAC, LTV, churn), underlying drivers (including operational metrics), and profitability.
* Collaborating with the Financial Reporting team to integrate commercial finance insights into broader financial reporting.
* Driving automation and efficiency in reporting, ensuring data consistency across finance and business functions.
Commercial Finance & Business Partnering
* Building and leading a high-performing Commercial Finance team that partners effectively with Sales, Marketing and Implementation.
* Providing commercial insight to drive pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and customer and product profitability analysis.
* Challenging and supporting sales forecasts, ensuring robust pipeline analysis and conversion tracking.
* Developing ROI models for marketing spend and ensuring budget implications are considered.
* Understanding the Sales-to-Implementation lifecycle to ensure we have a clear view of how sales will impact revenue and are able to identify areas to improve efficiency in customer time to go-live.
End-to-End Financial Process for Revenue & Cash Flow
* Ensuring a seamless financial process from contract signature through implementation, billing, and cash collection.
* Implementing strong financial controls for revenue recognition in collaboration with the Financial Reporting team.
* Working with cross-functional teams (Sales, Legal, Finance, and Operations) to ensure contract terms align with billing and collections.
* Proactively managing and resolving billing disputes, reducing DSO and improving working capital.
Linking with FP&A, Management Accounting & Cost Management
* Working closely with the Financial Reporting team to ensure commercial finance insights are incorporated into budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
* Partnering with the Financial Reporting team to ensure revenue and cost data are accurately reflected in the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
* Providing the detailed input for the budget consolidation process, ensuring commercial insights are factored into overall financial planning and assumptions are based on robust analysis.
* Aligning with the team responsible for cost management to assess the impact of commercial decisions on margins and operational efficiency.
Commercial Decision Making
* Owning and driving commercial decision making, ensuring a data-led and risk-aware approach.
* Identifying opportunities to optimise revenue streams, improve margins, and enhance operational efficiency.
* Supporting the CFO in preparing investor reporting, board presentations, and any work required regarding potential M&A.
