Assistant Practitioner Continence Service
A great opportunity has arisen to work as an Assistant Practitioner (Band 4) within Bradford District Care Foundation Trust's Continence Service. We are a well-established team delivering expert care to individuals with bladder and bowel problems across the primary care setting and care homes. We pride ourselves on our multidisciplinary approach to patient care and are very proud of the service that we deliver.
You will be responsible for undertaking continence assessments and reassessments, both in the community, and supporting staff and residents in care homes. The role will also include undertaking regular telephone clinics, supporting service users who require reassessment. You will be an effective member of the continence team, developing and maintaining effective channels of communication with other professionals and agencies.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role. You must be a flexible, caring professional and have a passion for continence, with an ability to work in challenging situations that will involve problem solving and being supportive to patient needs.

Main duties of the job
To work as an Assistant Practitioner within the Continence Service team, supporting the Continence Nurses in delivering a high-quality continence service in line with national recommendations, and to contribute to the ongoing development of the service.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NVQ III in Care qualification or equivalent.
Training
* Evidence of attendance at relevant short courses and study days.
Skills
* Standard keyboard and IT skills.
Experience
* Experience of caring for clients with bladder and bowel dysfunction.
* At least two years' experience of working as a Health Care Worker in a community setting.
* Experience of training others.
Knowledge
* Good understanding of the basic principles of continence promotion and management of incontinence.
