The Thomas Lord Audley School Learning Support Assistant Pay Range: Local Government Scale 3 Actual Salary from: £17,696 - £17,992 per annum (Point 5-6) Start Date: ASAP The Role We are seeking an outstanding individual to work in partnership with class teachers to support learning in line with the national curriculum, The SEN Code of Practice (2015) and the Professional Standards of Teaching Assistants (2016) in addition to school policies and procedures. This post is 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus non-pupil days). Some of your key responsibilities will include: Working with individuals or small groups of children under the direction of teaching staff and or SENCO to plan and deliver wave 1, 2 and 3 interventions that have measurable impact for the specific needs of the student. Being a key worker for SEN pupils. Supporting students with activities which support literacy and numeracy skills e.g. Toe by Toe. Supporting the use of ICT in the classroom and develop students’ competence and independence in its use e.g. Read Write Gold, Clicker 7, Numeracy Workout. Implementing planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to students’ responses as appropriate on a 1-2-1, small group and or in the class setting. We're looking for you if you have: Successful recent working experience working with secondary age children Good numeracy and literacy skills GCSE Maths & English A-C or equivalent Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures Specialisms and or training in one or more of the following: Physical and sensory needs for e.g. visual and or hearing impairment Social Interaction and communication e.g. social stories and or MAZE training.
