Our client is one of the UK's leading building services engineering consultancies who are currently recruiting for a Senior / Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join them from their Plymouth or Exeter office on a full time, permanent basis.
In this role you will collaborate with the industry's best, working with a wide range of built-environment specialists. In addition, you will be part of progressive and exciting projects and get the opportunity to work on innovative schemes across all sectors.
Senior / Principal Mechanical Design Engineer Position Overview
1. Work on a variety of projects in key industry sectors.
2. Design mechanical engineering systems at the highest level using the latest software design packages, including AutoCAD and REVIT.
3. Lead mechanical services design on large projects and take overall lead on small to medium-sized projects within the office.
4. Engage with junior support staff in their day-to-day activities and offer advice and guidance to ensure they develop their skills.
5. Ensure technical delivery in your work either alone or as part of a team.
6. Work with the project leader to monitor expenditure, resources, and work delivered.
Senior / Principal Mechanical Design Engineer Position Requirements
1. Prior experience at another multi-disciplinary, building services or engineering consultancy.
2. Software package knowledge: Hevacomp / CAD / Revit MEP.
3. Professional qualifications such as a degree / HND in BSc / BEng(Hons) in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services Engineering or similar.
4. Member or Associate of Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) or IMech or similar.
5. A clear understanding of the design, installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical building services within the built environment.
6. Project Leading / Client Facing experience would be advantageous.
Senior / Principal Mechanical Design Engineer Position Remuneration
1. Salary: £40k - £60k (Guide only - DOE).
