We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Highpoint, a category C prison located in the village of Stradishall, Suffolk. The prison houses around 1300 patients across 2 sites and would suit a GP who has an interest in end-to-end care as well as long-term conditions. Within this role, you will be supported by 3 permanent GPs and 2 permanent ANPs, working within the bank role offers flexibility for both working times and shift patterns.
Hours
Shifts will be based between Monday to Friday; usual clinical hours are 8.30-5pm; however, the site can offer flexibility with this.
This role offers a bank salary of £87 per hour.

What you'll be doing:
As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, you will provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients’ requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management. You will be responsible for prescribing for patients, regularly reviewing medications, and monitoring repeat prescriptions. Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with, having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities, including diagnosis, investigation, treatment, and referral as appropriate in line with guidelines and pathways. We recognize training and development is key; therefore, we provide a training portal to facilitate your needs as well as have an in-depth induction for all staff whether you have experience of working in prisons or not. You will gain insight into Mental Health and Substance Misuse, as well as the opportunity to work towards your RCGP level 2.

Qualifications required:
* MBChB or MBBS
* Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
* Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
* Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
* Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
* RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications
