The Role: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work full-time in a primary school environment within the Stoke-on-Trent area. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing tailored support to children with special educational needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities: - Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to implement educational plans for children with SEND. - Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with various learning differences. - Utilize creative and adaptive approaches to support student learning and engagement. - Assist in monitoring and tracking student progress, reporting back to the teacher and SENCO as required. - Support with the development of social skills and positive behavior management. - Prepare learning materials tailored to individual needs and support with differentiated instruction. - Accompany and support students during off-site educational visits and school events. - Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment that meets the individual needs of students. - Promote independence and self-confidence within the learners you support. - Participate in relevant meetings and professional development opportunities offered by the school or agency. Qualifications & Experience: - Experience working with children with SEND in a primary school setting. - Good understanding of various educational and support strategies beneficial to children with SEND. - NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent is desirable. - Patient, empathetic approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - The ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing needs within an educational setting. - A commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding best practices.
