Why join us
Use your expertise to champion the interests of a major Local Government Pension Scheme asset pool. ACCESS (A Collaboration of Central, Eastern and Southern Shires) brings together 11 like-minded Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) Authorities. Founded in 2016, we have already enabled the collaborative investment of over £45bn of assets on behalf of Authorities representing more than 1.2 million members and 3,500 employers. Central to ACCESS is the contractual relationship with the regulated Operator who is responsible for arrangements of over £30bn invested in active mandates. The ACCESS Support Unit (ASU) is hosted by Essex County Council.
The role
The Responsible Investment (RI) Analyst will take responsibility for the development and delivery of the Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) aspects of the milestones that constitute the Business Plan. Working with a range of partners, this hands-on role will drive the Pool's RI activities to meet the needs of our Authority stakeholders.
The post holder will have a strong background in roles of a similar nature along with being degree level qualified in a relevant discipline or associated qualifications or equivalent by experience. The post holder will have a Responsible Investment track record and a history of achieving success through collaboration. The role requires a detailed knowledge of how institutional investors can enhance Responsible Investment in practice along with a broad understanding of investment pooling within the LGPS.
About you
You’ll hold a degree (RQF level 6) in a relevant analytical field or equivalent experience, with ongoing professional development and expert knowledge in Responsible Investment (RI) and how institutional investors advance Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) priorities. Strong verbal and written communication, organisational, time management, and planning skills are essential, along with experience in building collaborative, influential relationships both within the Council and with external organisations to achieve strategic goals.
