SEN Support Worker in Bray, SL6
Monday to Friday position available for an experienced SEN Support Worker to assist a cheerful, happy, and engaging 10-year-old boy with Special Education Needs. £24,800.00 + Gross per Annum
Nearest Tube/Station: Maidenhead Railway. Will need own car to travel to and from family home.
Wage/Salary: £24,800.00 + Gross per Annum £17.00 Gross per Hour
Driver Essential? Yes, to travel to and from family home.
Essential: Experience supporting a young person with Autism Spectrum Condition.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: 28 hours on average per week. Monday to Friday: Term-time 3.30pm to 9.00pm and School Holidays 10.00am to 4.00pm. Please get in touch with your availability as we can consider a job share.
About this client/child: Jake is a cheeky, energetic, and outgoing young chap with a love for swimming, train rides, and water play. He enjoys playing in his sensory room and creating some mischief! Jake has Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), a Learning Disability, Development Delay, and a Visual Impairment. When at home, Jake is mobile, and when outside or for longer journeys, he uses his wheelchair. Jake strives for his independence, and his family and team support him to reach all his targets and goals.
Overview of role: Jake requires 1:1 assistance and support with his afterschool and bedtime routine. This includes assistance with personal care, self-help skills, supporting afterschool activities, preparing meals and snacks, assisting and implementing therapy programmes (training provided by Jake's therapist), and arranging fun and engaging learning and play opportunities. During school holidays, you will plan daily outings and trips Jake can enjoy and participate in. The role involves supporting Jake with self-regulation and helping him manage his expressive behaviours. Each shift during term-time will be completed with a handover to Jake's night staff. It is essential that you are confident with documenting and recording accurate information, as Jake has a care log to be completed daily. Additional hours are available if desired; hours worked outside of the contract Monday to Friday role will be paid at the set hourly rate.
