Full Time Nanny
Happy Nest Nanny Agency is seeking a nanny for a fun and welcoming family of four, with a 7-year-old boy and a 4-month-old boy.
The family is currently based in Chelford but moving to their new house in Alderley Edge around November time. They are looking for someone who can be flexible.
This is an ideal position for someone who is used to running a home and understands the demands of a busy household with young children. You will be a good multitasker and be happy to pitch in with whatever is needed to keep the family home running smoothly. They enjoy living in a very tidy and clean family home, despite the efforts of the kids. They expect open, transparent, and clear communication skills from everyone in the family, including the successful candidate. Food is important to them; they would like a confident cook who is happy to prepare healthy meals from scratch for the children. The children are both well-behaved with their own individual personalities, they get on really well and are very loving.
This is a warm, fun-loving family with lots of laughter. They are looking for the successful candidate to be part of this and will welcome the nanny into their family.
General Duties
* Look after two children, organizing activities and keeping the kids active.
* Provide stimulating and fun educational activities during the day, including trips to the park and days out.
* The eldest boy loves adventure and being outdoors, so lots of trips to the park and imaginative play are expected. There are baby classes during the day for the younger boy.
* Mr. 7 is at school at Kings, so you will need to be a driver with your own car for pick up later in the afternoon (happy to pay the mileage). This is usually a good time to practice spellings or do some homework.
* All nursery duties, including meal prep, children's laundry, taking care of PE kits, and school admin.
* Wardrobe management, organizing party gifts and invitations, and other school admin.
* Settling down for bath time and bedtime. The baby has had a maternity nurse since birth and has a great established routine, so you'll help keep that in place when the role starts.
* Responsible for running the home and all child-related housekeeping duties.
* Laundry and ironing.
* Cooking meals for the boys, focusing on healthy cooking from scratch.
* Occasional shopping and local errands.
* School run/pickup when the family is not able to.
* Cover for date nights (once or twice a month).
* Some weekend days.
* Traveling with the family (this is only a possibility, depending on the type of holiday).
* Help with the children in the school holidays.
* Liaising with other household support (gardeners, etc.). The family has a cleaner too.
Experience (Must Haves)
* A positive and energetic personality.
* Previous childcare experience with references to support your application.
* Fully enhanced DBS (criminal record) check on the update service.
* Be a driver with your own car.
* Be capable of sole charge of the children.
* Have newborn experience.
* Be able to cook and follow recipes.
* Have a First Aid certificate or be willing to take the qualification.
* Be looking for a long-term position with the family.
* Have an excellent level of English.
* Be happy around animals, as the family has a friendly Labrador.
* At least 4 years of experience working as a private nanny or as an experienced childcare worker with early years experience.
* Relevant childcare qualification.
Beneficial (Nice to Haves)
* Comfortable swimming, as they do have a swimming pool, so would like the children to have a couple of hours of playtime in it.
Hours
* A minimum of 40+ hours per week.
* 5 days per week, typically 8 am-6 pm and 1 pm-8 pm.
* 2 weekend days per month, either a Saturday or a Sunday.
* Occasional overnight stays.
