Senior PHP Developer / Technical Team Leader, Yorkshire / Remote working.
A fantastic opportunity exists for a Senior PHP Developer / Technical Product Lead with supervisory experience and strong commercial experience of MySQL, HTML, Javascript / jQuery and CSS to join this rapidly expanding IT team at my Christian Charity client. With a solid commercial IT background, you are a logical thinker, highly technical and if successful you will lead and support a product team of system developers / junior developers to develop and maintain bespoke internal web applications to support the work of the charity’s head office and frontline teams. As such you can demonstrate previous experience of leading a team to meet key objectives or targets, and ideally experience of mentoring, training and developing other systems developers, working with Agile methodologies and some experience of project management. The role involves working in a fast paced development team on systems that support the charity’s work, their partnerships with churches / individuals and their other services.
You will have excellent communication at all levels including the ability to clearly communicate technical information, the ability to work in a proactive manner and thrive well under pressure. You have excellent evaluation, analytical and problem solving skills, strong relationship building skills to develop strategic relationships with other teams and managers and be able to hold a good balance between fine detail and the bigger picture, with an excellent level of organisational awareness. Experience developing across a variety of platforms (Windows / Linux / Mac) is helpful as well as an good knowledge of email, browser / web and database technologies. The role can be based at their offices in Yorkshire or London, can be remote working (with the need to visit head office 2-3 times a month) or a hybrid between the two. The role also requires candidates to be comfortable working in a development team, as well as working alone.
In addition, the role has a GOR (genuine occupational requirement) under the Equality Act of 2010 (schedule 9) for the post holder to be a committed, practising and active Christian and agree with the charity’s ethos and mission.
