We are seeking to appoint a new Catering Assistant from Monday 17 March 2025, or as soon as possible after that date, subject to the necessary employment checks. The successful applicant will join our friendly team in the School kitchen, who provide high quality food for up to 1,000 pupils and staff every day.
A basic understanding of food handling and kitchen hygiene, health and safety awareness, and good personal hygiene are all requirements of this post. Reporting to the Catering Manager the post holder will be responsible for:
• Preparing and serving food
• Operating electronic tills, where staff and pupils pay using a 'smartcard'
• Cleaning of work surfaces, floors, tables, utensils etc
• Food storage and stock rotation
• Taking and recording temperature readings for fridges, freezers, chillers and hot cabinets to comply with food hygiene regulations
The post is for 26.25 hours per week working from 9.00am to 2.45pm Monday to Friday with a 30 minute unpaid break. The post is term time only less 4 days (during Enrichment Week) plus 2 Inset days.
