By joining our OHL Transmission and Distribution team as a Project Manager, you will have overall accountability for successful project delivery including planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning, and handover/close out on OHL Projects.
Our projects are site-based across the UK; however, we welcome flexible working. This role is available for full-time hybrid working.
Accountable for:
* Hold periodic project reviews with site teams and clients.
* Ensure reports provide relevant information to enable informed, cost-effective decisions in line with overall business strategy.
* Prepare and present both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders.
* Ability to interrogate designs and challenge inputs and deliverables.
* Forecast cost and resource requirements.
* Ensure a relentless focus on Health and Safety and keep up to date with changes in legislation.
* Carry out Safety and Environmental audits.
* Lead Accident/Incident Investigations and monitor the effectiveness of the H&S Management System and implement improvement actions.
* Lead on reviewing RAMS and accepting subcontractor RAMS.
* Develop H&S plans and ensure they are treated as live documents, ensuring sufficiency and competency of the workforce.
* Coordinate and manage all project activities and internal functions and identify and control resources to deliver works.
* Develop high-performing teams, promote a pipeline of talent, and assist with internal training through supporting, guiding, motivating, and empowering the team.
* Lead risk/opportunity reviews, own the Risk Register, and recommend/implement changes. Log and escalate any issues that cannot be resolved at the delegated level of authority.
* Manage subcontractors, including monitoring contractor attendance and progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary to achieve contractual arrangements.
* Support and contribute to tenders and new work applications.
* Ensure quality assurance activities are undertaken and take appropriate action on findings, leading working groups on focused improvement areas.
* Monitor progress and implement Short Interval Control processes, hold weekly meetings, and ensure production of operational milestones reflects the master schedule and client expectations.
* Incorporate and balance both operational and commercial constraints into decision making.
Essential Requirements:
* Must have experience managing projects 33kV and above.
* 5 years of experience managing projects.
* CSCS and SMSTS or equivalent.
* Able to demonstrate a track record of project delivery.
* In-depth understanding and practical experience of standard forms of contracts.
* Planning and programming experience.
* Driving Licence.
Desirable:
* Formal qualification in project management (APM).
* Experience managing DNO projects.
* IOSH / NEBOSH.
