Process Technicians on site are responsible for ensuring that the injection moulding equipment on site is running correctly. Meeting production efficiency targets and maintaining the required quality standards are also key responsibilities. Position Title: Process Technician Reporting to: Shift Supervisor Location: Barbot Hall Industrial Estate, Mangham Road, Rotherham, S61 4RJ Working hours: 40 hours per week: Alternating shifts: Monday to Friday. Days (6am-2pm), Afters (2pm-6pm) and Nights (10pm-6am) Key Responsibilities: Install and start up moulds in accordance with SOPs and good, safe practice Complete colour changes working to SMED principles Complete tool changes and plate changes as required Ensure 'first off' products are produced to the required specification and ensure quality checks have been completed before clearing for production Investigate, diagnose and solve problems relating to the moulding process where performance is below the required level Liaise with other departments to ensure problems are resolved quickly Working as part of a multi disciplinary team, where you may carry out tasks outside of your core skills e.g. CI projects, New Product introductions, machine moves etc.) To work within 5S, SMED, Kaizen and Health & Safety systems in Production areas. Essential experience and skills: Educated to ONC or above in appropriate engineering discipline (Desirable) A recognised engineering apprenticeship (Desirable) Injection Moulding qualification equivalent to IMT3 or above (Desirable) A multi skilled qualification would also be advantageous Knowledge and experience of large format injection moulding Up to date knowledge of modern injection moulding machinery and tooling The successful candidate will: have experience working in a fast paced manufacturing environment have an excellent understanding of and a willingness to work in accordance with approved standards and safe operating procedures be able to prioritise their workload and work using their own initiative
