This is a new electronics design engineer position that requires excellent RF design experience. A senior RF design engineer is required to join a start-up involved with the research, development and design of optics / photonic technologies. Their technologies radically improve network speed and energy efficiency.
This RF design engineer role requires:
1. Excellent RF schematic capture experience, working on 40 GHz bandwidth circuits for high-speed network hardware.
2. Experience of managing losses, impedance and managing material usage to optimise electronics design.
3. You will work with suppliers to oversee, approve and deliver PCB layouts and will be involved with pre and post-layout simulation and validation.
4. Experience of using tools such as Ansys HFSS or ADS.
5. Mixed signal hardware design experience. In addition, experience of high-speed optical transceiver design would be preferred.
You will need a strong RF electronics product development background and experience with high-speed network interface or optical transceiver products would be great. RF design candidates may have worked in other arenas involving high-speed network technologies (e.g., network, and data centre hardware, telecoms systems, storage / servers / HPC, consumer electronics or specialist test and measurement products).
Skills / Experience required:
1. A degree or masters in a relevant subject area (e.g., electronics engineering).
2. Experience of electronics / RF design for products used in high-speed networking applications – e.g., optical transceivers, network / data centre electronics, telecoms systems, storage / servers / HPC, consumer electronics or specialist test and measurement products.
3. Excellent RF schematic capture experience, working on 40 GHz bandwidth circuits for high-speed network hardware.
4. Experience of managing losses, impedance and managing material usage to optimise electronics design.
5. You will work with suppliers to oversee, approve and deliver PCB layouts and will be involved with pre and post-layout simulation and validation.
6. Experience of using tools such as Ansys HFSS, ADS and PADS.
7. Mixed signal hardware design experience. In addition, experience of high-speed optical transceiver design would be preferred.
8. Excellent communication, organisation and motivational skills.
9. The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving, start-up organisation.
10. Knowledge of high-speed network interface design and optical transceiver systems would be preferable.
