We are recruiting an Environmental Health, Community Safety, and Emergency Planning and Resilience Manager at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 Hours (7.24 Monday - Friday)
Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time
Location: Ty Penallta / Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Public Protection Team.
We pay an attractive salary of £60,330 - £66,160 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Environmental Health Manager to take responsibility for delivering a large grouping of local authority public protection services to a population of 180,000 people across the 5th largest Local Authority in Wales.
The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the delivery of public health protective services, including food safety interventions, health and safety interventions, communicable disease control, air quality and contaminated land management, planning consultations, pest and animal control, statutory nuisance investigations, plus other services to achieve exemplary levels of service delivery.
The postholder will effectively work with relevant elected members, managers and partners across all Council service areas to develop a culture of collaborative working across functions, departments and inter-organisational boundaries to ensure objectives are met.
For the role, we ask that you have:
* An Environmental Health Level 6 (Degree) qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales or equivalent.
* In-depth knowledge of Environmental Health, and ability to attain an in-depth knowledge of Community Safety, Emergency Planning and Resilience.
* Considerable experience at a senior management level.
* The ability to travel within and outside the County Borough.
