Quality Assurance (QA) Manager Location: Reading Project Type: MOD Framework – New Build & Refurbishment Duration: Temporary to Permanent Rate: Up to £320 per day We are working with a leading Main Contractor delivering a long-term MOD framework in Reading, offering a secure pipeline of work for a minimum of 3 years, with potential for further extension. The project comprises a combination of new build and refurbishment schemes, forming part of a wider defence infrastructure programme. The new build elements will include a variety of structures such as office buildings, training facilities, storage units, and ancillary buildings, constructed using a mix of steel frame and reinforced concrete (RC) frame construction methods. Refurbishment works will involve upgrades to existing MOD facilities, including internal reconfigurations, M&E enhancements, and fabric repairs within live operational environments. Security Clearance Required Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be eligible to undergo security vetting Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage project-specific Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) plans in line with MOD standards Implement and monitor quality procedures throughout the project lifecycle Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and surveillance checks to ensure compliance with specifications and standards Manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring all work is properly documented and traceable Collaborate with construction, design, and commercial teams to ensure quality is embedded from pre-construction through to handover Report non-conformances, manage root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement Ensure all quality records and documentation are properly compiled, maintained, and handed over Requirements: Proven experience as a QA/QC Manager on major construction projects, ideally within MOD or similarly regulated environments Strong working knowledge of quality management systems, ITPs, and industry standards Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to compliance and improvement Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to influence project teams Relevant qualifications in Quality Management or Engineering preferred Eligibility for security clearance is essential What’s on Offer: Long-term opportunity on a secure MOD framework project Temporary to permanent pathway with a respected main contractor Work on technically challenging and high-profile infrastructure schemes Opportunity to shape quality culture and standards across a multi-year framework To apply for this role please send your CV through the portal or get in contact with Sam Marsden at Falcon Green directly
