Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Gas Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and a comprehensive understanding of gas systems. As a Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas appliances and systems in both residential and commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure the safety and efficiency of gas services provided to our clients.
Duties
1. Install, maintain, and repair gas appliances, including boilers, cookers, and heating systems.
2. Service appliances.
3. Conduct safety checks and inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
4. Diagnose faults in gas systems and carry out necessary repairs or replacements.
5. Assemble components using hand tools and power tools as required.
6. Perform plumbing tasks related to gas installations, ensuring proper connections and functionality.
7. Carry out heavy lifting as needed for the installation or removal of equipment.
8. Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
9. Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as carpenters, to complete projects efficiently.
10. Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times while on site.
Skills
1. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
2. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
3. Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during installations.
4. Experience in welding is advantageous for certain installations or repairs.
5. Ability to plumb effectively, ensuring all connections are secure and leak-free.
6. Commercial driving experience is beneficial for transporting equipment to various job sites.
7. Capability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
