INTEREST is a new digital publication from Moneyfacts, using our historic data, intelligent, impartial editorial and graphs to inform readers about what is going on with interest rates. INTEREST is published every six weeks, to fit in with MPC meetings. It focuses specifically on inflation and rate setting. INTEREST seeks to identify the effects, positive or negative, interest rates have on the economy. The Role This is an exciting opportunity for an Editor for INTEREST to take the publication forwards. The role would suit an experienced editor or assistant editor from the banking or financial services arena. We are looking for a talented writer or journalist with a background in finance, statistics and/or financial data, who can develop this key subject area. The ideal candidate will have specialist writing skills and will be responsible not only for driving the content themes but also writing much of the content themselves. The role could operate on a remote/hybrid working basis, with attendance at weekly editorial meetings an essential part of the role. Essential Skills/Experience Previous experience in an editorial role, including identifying and commissioning material from contributors/readers Educated to Degree level, ideally in a related subject Previous experience working as a writer or journalist in financial fields Background in banking and finance Specialist writing skills Ability to work with data Keen interest in current affairs Ability to research and analyse historical data and identify trends In depth knowledge and understanding of the role of the Bank of England in UK monetary policy. Previous experience working for or with organisations such as the ONS, Bank of England, Reuters, or the Financial Times would be advantageous.
