About the Role Having recently been appointed the Prime on a major 7 year MOD Programme our client is seeking a Cyber Security Architect to develop and implement security architecture. You will ensure compliance with HMG standards (MOD-specific JSP, NCSC, NIST 800) and provide technical leadership in protective and information security. Key Responsibilities Develop and assure security architecture across IT infrastructure and applications. Implement defence-in-depth security controls to mitigate cyber risks. Ensure compliance with accreditation processes and security frameworks (e.g. Government Functional Standard 007 ). Create and maintain security documentation (e.g. SyOPS, Security Management Plans, ISMS ). Support security design at all lifecycle stages, working with internal and external stakeholders. Oversee network security, authentication, authorisation, and SIEM implementations. Essential Skills & Experience Experience in protective security and cyber risk management. Knowledge of systems engineering, DevOps, and agile methodologies. Strong understanding of Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) principles. Expertise in firewalls, cross-domain solutions, identity management (SAML, LDAP, PKI), and hybrid cloud security. Experience securing MOD and government systems. Desirable Qualifications CISSP, SABSA, or equivalent security certifications. Risk management or public/private cloud security certifications.
