IT Systems Administrator
Location: Eyre Court, Lincoln
Salary: up to £42, per annum
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, hybrid working 2-3 days at OSJCT head office or trust sites and the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role within the IT department of our large, not-for-profit organisation.
As IT System Administrator, you’ll be responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration and maintenance of Trust systems, hardware and software. You’ll resolve hardware and software errors, liaising with team members, business colleagues and third party product vendors as necessary. You will oversee and implement application and OS patches and upgrades, as well as managing and configuring cloud-based services such as Office. You’ll participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation; producing documentation for support knowledge, procedures and call scripts that facilitate enhanced and continually improving support practices. You will also lead in managing availability and capacity planning with strong inputs into problem and change management processes.
We’re looking for someone with proven and demonstrable experience in core areas of Microsoft OS, application and Office management and troubleshooting, with at least three years of operational experience of system administration or IT services support in a multi-site organisation. You’ll have experience in the management and implementation of OS patching and data backup, and strong understanding of cloud-based systems and IaaS technologies. An excellent communicator who can prioritise and manage their own workload, you’ll be able to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, and to logically tackle and resolve problems in areas where no previous knowledge or experience exists.
Other skills and experience required include:
1. Excellent knowledge and proficiency in at least four of the following technologies: Windows Server -, MS Azure and AWS, Powerapps/Automate, Windows 10&11 Desktop, Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, or Office, Virtualisation Technologies (Hyper-V / VMware) and Citrix.
2. Knowledge of key backup systems and methodologies (Asigra / Veeam).
3. Demonstrable ability to actively monitor and fault find within a domain environment.
4. Good knowledge of IT security principles (including firewall configuration, VPNs, and DNS management), Networking, TCPIP, Firewalls, Routing, Switch Management and Virtual LANs.
5. Knowledge of the configuration, setup and management of network devices, including routers, switchers and Wi-Fi devices.
6. Experience in leading server capacity and availability management activities.
7. Ability to produce accurate technical guidance and documentation.
