Description & Requirements
Job Purpose:
Responsible for the receiving and inspection of incoming piece parts, bespoke parts, and non-franchised stock. This role ensures compliance with company procedures (IQP-001, IQP-002, 1QP-004) and industry standards such as AS9102 (latest revision). The Goods in Technician plays a key role in maintaining product quality, contributing to continuous improvement, and supporting the achievement of daily, weekly and monthly output targets.
Main Duties:
* Receive and inspect incoming goods in line with IQP-001 procedures
* Conduct inspection of bespoke parts per IQP-001, IQP-002, AND IQP-004
* Perform and review First Article Reports (FAIRs) in line with AS9102 or customer-specific requirements
* Inspect non -franchised stock according to QSP-015-1 or customer- specific requirements
* Ensure compliance to customer drawings, specifications, and concessions
* Identify and manage non- compliant material, including MRB creation and processing
* Review and sign-off FAIRs on behalf of customers after compliance verification
* Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve inspection-related issues
* Actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean activities to reduce defects and improve RPFT (Right Part First Time)
* Support urgent inspection requirements and process prioritisation
* Keep knowledge current on counterfeit market trends and evolving AS standards
Person Specification:
* Strong understanding of IQP-001, IQP-002, and IQP-004 proficiency in interpreting customer drawings and specifications
* Familiarity with FAIRs and compliance to AS9102 and customer-specific standards
* Working knowledge of QSP-015-1 and PRS (Purchasing Requirements Specifications)
* Ability to use IFS and manage good inwards processes
* Experience in managing MRB processes and identifying non-conforming materials
* Sound understanding of purchasing and supplier quality assurance processes
* Effective communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
* Problem-solving mindset with ability to apply advanced problem-solving techniques
* Commitment to continuous improvement and process enhancement
* Flexible and adaptable approach to work and team collaboration
Desirable Skill & Attributes:
* Prior experience in an aerospace or high-reliability component environment
* Knowledge of counterfeit detection and mitigation practices
* Experience working within ISO9001 / AS9100 certified environments
* Familiarity with Lean principles and CI methodology
